Tableau Vivante has great coverage of local farmers’ markets – especially the Saturday morning market here in Pasadena.

Old Towne Pub
This door is just across the way from The Majestical Roof:
It takes you to the Old Towne Pub, which is also hidden away and accessible only through tunnels or alleys.

Vanesa Martinelli opening at The Majestical Roof
Oh, how I love The Majestical Roof. Last night they had an opening for one of their artists, Vanesa Martinelli, so Gavin and I stopped by and had wine in the hidden away courtyard and listened to live music and met Vanesa (who has been painting since she was four and who grew up surrounded by musicians – check out her website or stop by The Majestical Roof and check out her paintings in person).
Dansko love
This picture is for Chez Shoes’s Dansko Love flickr group. I got a pair of Dansko mary janes at Lucha’s in South Pasadena a couple of years ago, and when I did they gave me this, too.
The South Pasadena Farmers’ Market

South Pasadena farmers’ market
Thursday night, Erin, Superspark and I went to the South Pasadena farmers’ market and then to Firefly for their farmers’ market night sangria and tapas. Is anyone out there a regular at this market or Pasadena’s Saturday morning market? I like them both, but for different things. The Saturday morning market has more variety, but the Thursday night market is a good after-work place to go and relax.

South Pasadena Music
South Pasadena Music feels like a third place. It’s a great place to buy an instrument and to take lessons, but it’s more than a store. It feels good to be there. It feels kind of like a low key community hub. When I walked in this week, they had a copy of the South Pasadena Downtown Redevelopment Plan on the counter, and people (including me) looked at it and got into discussions about it. It felt like something out of a Ray Oldenburg book.
Kathy of Aphrodite in Jeans likes it there, too.
