Seascape strawberries from the Pasadena farmers’ market

Seascape strawberries

We get out of bed early on Saturdays just for these. They’re usually sold out by mid-morning.

  1. Canon makes really good macro lenses for their point and shoot cameras, and I use the macro lens a lot. When I picked this camera out, I went to Best Buy and tried the macro lenses out on all the different models, and I like the display and controls on this camera best. I also use Picasa to organize all my pictures on my desktop, and they have a few picture cleanup tools that work well, too — especially auto contrast and “I’m feeling lucky” (which adjusts contrast and color at the same time). Also, I take at least 20 – 25 pictures for every picture I use! Sometimes I find better angles or framing as I keep shooting. Usually one or two pictures that stand out and I use those.

  2. These strawberries look fabulous. I was at the Pasadena Farmers Market as well and the strawberries I bought looked nothing like these. Which vendor did you buy them from? I wonder if mine became ill because I accidentally left them out on the kitchen counter all night. Thankfully I was a able to salvage enough for a big smoothie!

  3. Hi Melissa, I’m not sure what the vendor’s name is — I will try to find out next time we go. We usually eat all our strawberries the same day — ours look ill the next day, too. But on the same day… oh my, they’re perfect.
